Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in technical leadership and people management.
  • Experience in software development in one or more general purpose programming languages (e.g., C/C++ or Java).
  • Ability to communicate in English and Mandarin fluently.


Preferred qualifications:

  • Master's or PhD in Computer Science or a related field.
  • 10 years of experience in system-level software development (e.g., Android BSP, Android framework development, Linux kernel, drivers and other TV middleware).
  • 7 years of technical leadership and people management experience.
  • Experience working with OEMs and SoC partners to raise the quality and performance of their devices.


Responsibilities

  • Lead, inspire, and motivate the TV Systems software engineering team in Taipei with a strong technical outlook. Be closely involved with the projects that the team is working on.
  • Innovate, design, implement, and test new software features for TV embedded systems and related products. 
  • Build high quality Android TV OS reference designs that provides the foundational hardware and software for TV OEMs to launch devices with quality at scale.
  • Develop strong relationships with key SoC partners and TV OEMs. Own and drive a strategy working with our OEMs and SoC partners to raise the quality and performance of Google TV devices.
  • Be an expert or acquire expertise in technologies that our SoC vendors contribute to the Android TV/Google TV platform particularly in the areas of kernel, bootloader, TEE, HAL implementations and Android framework.
